Children First Counseling Center and Lassen Counseling Services has an immediate need for LMFT’s or LCSW’s to work out of our Red Bluff. Therapists must have the experience to take on a caseload quickly and he/she should understand/be proficient in caseload documentation for a variety of funding sources.

Compensation: Based on experience

The ideal candidate would have self-confidence, good organizational, computer, and writing skills, a professional appearance, and be able to manage their own caseload scheduling. He/She would be able to take direction, ask questions, and participate as a team member.

Requirements:

-Masters Degree in a field of behavioral science from an accredited educational institution
-Reliable transportation with current insurance and valid driver’s license

Children First Counseling Center is the primary counseling center serving all of rural Tehama County and the incorporated areas of Los Molinos, Corning, and Red Bluff where our main offices are located. Services are provided to individuals of all ages, plus families, couples, and groups through a variety of contracted funding sources, including Medi-Cal, Managed Care, private insurance, Victim Witness, and CAPIT (CPS).

Lassen Counseling Services, a subsidiary of Children First Foster Family Agency, is a non-profit agency that provides counseling services to a variety of clients including: children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. We serve Medi-Cal Managed Care (Partnership/CA Health & Wellness), private insurance, and school-based clients in Shasta, Tehama, Siskiyou, and Lassen/Modoc counties.

Our practices are very busy, with many opportunities for those willing to invest the time necessary to develop into experienced clinicians.

Job Description

The THP Social Worker provides social work case management to youth placed in the care of the CFFFA THP Program. This position requires a combined use of education gained through the earning of your degree as well as common sense.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Weekly home visits
  • One-on-one interaction with each client minimum twice per month
  • Coordination / facilitation of medical, dental, mental health, school, and other appointments/services necessary for client’s success
  • Development of initial ANSP (Appraisal, Needs, & Services Plan) and quarterly updates thereafter
  • Development of on-site real-time case note at home/face-to-face visits
  • Thorough and timely SIR (Special Incident Report)
  • Professional communication with service providers
  • Attendance and participation at meetings as necessary
  • Attendance and participation at group supervision
  • Seeking out guidance and direction from supervisors/leaders/management as needed
  • Accept coaching from co-workers, supervisors, management, and Administrator
  • Engage in timely and accurate communication with service providers involved in client’s case
  • Initiate communication with supervisors as you receive information impacting a case
  • After-hours on-call rotation
  • Adhere to Mandated Reporter laws
  • Coordinate and participate as necessary in the delivery and/or completion of assessments
  • Coordinate and assist with a vast array of crisis intervention plans and techniques

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully to prevent recurrence of problems; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field required
  • 2 years of case management preferred

Physical Demands

  • STANDING/WALKING: Up to 20% if the workday is spent standing/walking
  • SITTING: Up to 90% of the workday may be spent sitting at a computer
  • LIFTING: Lifting may include up to 25 lbs. Up to 2 of the day involves lifting requiring full range of motion
  • CARRYING: Up to 15% of the workday might be carrying objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
  • PUSHING/PULLING: Up to 5% of the day may require pushing or pulling
  • CLIMBING: Up to 5% of the day may include climbing one flight of stairs
  • STOOPING/KNEELING: Up to 5% of the workday may be spend stooping or kneeling to open drawers and gather equipment
  • BENDING/CROUCHING: Up to 25% of workday may be spent bending at the waist
  • REACHING/STRETCHING: Up to 5% of the workday may require reaching and stretching
  • HAND/WRIST: Up to 50% of the workday is spent using normal movement of hands and wrists holding supplies
  • FINGERING: 90% of the workday involves using a computer keyboard
  • FEELING: Normal tactile feeling is required to perform all job duties
  • TWISTING: Up to 5% of the day may be required in retrieving supplies or equipment
  • TALKING: Average ability is required in communicating with patients, staff and outside agencies
  • HEARING: Average hearing ability is required to answer the telephone and perform all job duties
  • SEEING: Average ability is required to read and follow instructions
